What's Billy Beane smoking? Milton Bradley is now an Oakland A...

http://sfgate.com/cgi-bin/article.cgi?f=/n/a/2005/12/13/sports/s150700S97.DTL

Stupid move.  So much for team chemistry.

Agreed.  Some people are just poisonous in any environment (Bradley and Kent are both among them).  Was another outfielder even needed, with Kotsay and Payton having nice seasons and Kielty capable of same?

Dunno if anyone else here cares about hockey, but the Sharks are suddenly red hot and teal:

proof that one trade can really change everything.

Wow, I wouldn't have expected him to be gratuitously bitchy like this here:

http://sports.espn.go.com/nfl/recap?gameId=251218011

"I really respect the way they play the game," quarterback Bob Griese said. "It's not like they are the Oakland Raiders, where it would be hard to root for them to go undefeated. The Colts are a great organization and they have represented my home state of Indiana with class."

Speaking of gratuitously bitchy, Joe Buck isn't even pretending to conceal his glee that the Cowboys are being trampled by Washington as I type.  "I wanna see Pam Oliver talk to Bill Parcells now!" he shrieked before one commercial break.  And etc.  Not that I disagree with the anti-Cowboys sentiment -- but should an announcer even betray sentiment in such a way, particularly when he's got Troy-Boy right up there in the booth with him?

Baseball is my #1 live sport to go to. Hockey is great. I have tix to go next Friday the 23rd.

I just started going to soccer this past season ans now the Quakes are going going gone I think.
I don't really care about going to see football and I've only been to two Warriors games.
Sharks bleed teal.

"speaking of gratuitously bitchy..."

Well, I dunno, it's accepted that most folks hate the Raiders, so I don't consider that remark bitchy.  As to Sistah Buck, he'd better be careful, or Troy will stop inviting him to go fishing on Brokeback Mountain...

Was that gratuitously bitchy enough for ya?

And all over greater New England, long-haired, bearded effigies are going up in flames.

Damon must know what he's in for though--he and Giambi were on the A's together, and he had to tidy up when he went uptown, too.
Let's get right to it.

Huh?

If you're referring to the pic accompanying the story -- it's an old photo.
I'm sure there'll be another Charity Shaving Event for maximum publicity. So which NY TV station is gonna hire his wife to do "features"?

He doesn't know what he's in for with the NYC media.  My friend Jagger's (yeah, Mark, that Jagger) wife works as a production assistant on Queer Eye and was there for the taping of the Red Sox episode.  She said JD was Dumb. As. Dirt.  Didn't dish on much else, though.

Giants trade Alfonzo to the Angels for Steve Finley...

http://www.sfgate.com/cgi-bin/article.cgi?file=/news/archive/2005/12/21/sports/s174300S36.DTL

One question: why did the Angels want Alfonzo?
