Apologies in advance to you Giants fans, but you get Carpenter, Morris & Suppan this weekend, who have 41 wins between them & it says here by Monday they'll have 44.

Indeed, quite the comeback Fri nite -- glad I wasn't home to see that. And today's game is an exciting battle so far, with the Cards leading 4-2 in the 7th.

when we walked in to the club last night, Danny, the guy I buy CD's from in the band, told me happily that the Giants were up 4-0!

Later, when he was walking in to start the gig, stopped by my table, and told me the sad news.  Even out in the middle of nowhere, the bad news comes in.

Suppan only gave up one earned run, but the Cards tied a season high with 4 errors. You don't win many games when you commit 4 errors & the other guys only make one.  Gaz's buddy Seabol had the costliest one, although he also had an RBI single.  We also learned that Rolen is out for the season & will be having shoulder surgery soon.  Yikes!

41+1=44?

(Morris was the only Cards starter to get the win over the weekend, Carpenter gave up 4 and was gifted with a no-decision thanks to the worn-out Giants bullpen. )
Let's get right to it.

Giants traded Michael Tucker to the Phillies today for a minor-league pitcher.

On a lighter note, the A's bats have re-awakened!  Chavvy's wife should give birth more often

I loved the Nick Swisher "plug" and Joe Blanton "socket" thing. But yeah Mr Street's midriff sure beats Britney's (or whoever it is he's supposed to be channeling).

Great catch. I think we are 5 games out? I'm not holding onto any playoff hopes.
