But the Giants are up 3-1 in the top of the 6th, and Moises got his 300th dinger in the first.

And the skies are blue and almost cloudless--the nicest day we've had around here in weeks!! Hallelujah!!!
Let's get right to it.

I chose hockey over Giants tonight. Any of you interested in two Club 222 tix for tonight? My friend is selling, price negotiable as if she doesn't sell, they go to waste. She wants Giants, I want hockey. Hockey wins as there is a whole Giants season ahead of us. OR, if one of you wants to go with me to the hockey game.... one ticket for hockey, two for giants....

Hockey was the right choice tonight! 8-0? I went by a TV at the top o the 9th and saw the damage done.

Ran into Drew Remenda who does the Fox TV stuff. Wished him a happy B-day, he denied it was his b-day and then later they had it up on the big screen.
Playoff tix on sale next week.

Terrific piece from Slate on closing pitchers and their theme music:

based on yesterday's performance, Huston Street's song ("Hate Me Now") could become appropriate for the wrong reasons.

Anybody have Albert Pujols in their fantasy league?  Homers in 4 straight at bats, the 3rd being a walkoff in the 9th Sunday night & the 4th providing all the runs for a win on Monday.  Tied what has to be the Most-Tied record in sports - 35 people have now done this but no one has ever hit 5 homers in consecutive AB's.

Go Cards!

Had him last year, but this year didn't get the 1st pick.  Though he didn't go first this year, so I would have had him if I had 2nd pick.  Didn't have that either.

BTW, A-Rod went first, also a solid pick.

Pujols rocks, though.

Go Giants.

Couldn't touch him in my league -- he went for 50 and only two other players went for as much as 40 (they being A-Rod and Santana).  Rregretting it as I sit in 13th place out of 14 teams (thanks for those fast starts, Francouer and Everett!).

Nope. Even if I had tix, San Jose on a "school nite" is a tough sell. I was at the A's last nite -- guess I brought 'em luck.

Scooooooore! Another great game. Loved the hats all over the ice after Marleau's hat trick.
A Sharks win in Nashville on Sunday will wrap up round one. Almost too exciting to think about.

Damn, the A's just got swept by the previously-crappy Twins.  Time to worry about Esteban Sadder-But-Louiza?

Brought this quote back since Louiza was awful again today -- lucky for the A's it ended up being rained out, 'cause it was 6-1 Royals in the 3rd.

One of the guys who writes the A's Blog on sfgate.com said Louiza was Billy Beane's worst big-money signing since Arthur Rhodes. And yes, he actually said "Billy Beane is obviously older-but-not-Louiza."

Not good news considering Harden's on the DL.
