I went looking for a simple pic of Mr Slave and hit the jackpot with that little gem.

another wonderful original: Tom Waits' "Heart of Saturday Night".  This has been a fab set, with '66 on tap from the Drive. More than makes up for the fact that I'll miss Dave's set due to a 10:00 meeting.

Ha!  I was actually going to post about that "It's Only Rock & Roll" video!  Bubbles, bubbles everywhere.

Great set all around except for the Crapton.

Plot synopsis for "Mr. Slave"?

You need to rent the entire South Park DVD collection, dude.

After Mr Garrison finally acknowledged his gayness in, like, season 4 (or 5?) he hooked up with Mr Slave, an outrageously effeminate leatherman, whose catchphrase is my quote below.  You really need to see the eps, tho'.  Absolute genius.

The Big Star tune, yes? Has DM ever played any Big Star in 10@10?
Let's get right to it.

Tuned in to find an odd Yes song I'd never heard, "Going for the One."  Followed by Gary Gilmore's death sentence as segue into "Psychokiller."  Happy Monday, everyone!

(P.S.  I'll be working at the Voice from 11am til we close the issue, so I'll be a nonpresence today.)

A *LOT* of little-heards in today's set, BOS being Randy Newman's "Baltimore," which sounds completely different from how Nina Simone recorded it a year later.
