POC's Birthday Potluck Sendoff:

Host:    Amelia and the Argus
Location:    The Argus Lounge
3187 Mission Street, San Francisco, CA
When:    Sunday, April 2, 6:30pm
Phone:    415.824.1447

Howdy! I hope you all can make it to my birthday potluck sendoff party! Even though I'll be working at the bar, I'm celebrating (a day before) my birthday with a potluck party! My brother, DJ Sneaky E will be spinning the music I like to hear, so prepare yourself for plenty Kenny Loggins!

I'm nomadic in nature (and will be heading to Amsterdam in mid-April to study Dutch for a couple of months), which means I live out of a bag. So in lieu of gifts, please just bring food! I'll see what sort Dutch-inspired concotions I can whip up! Did someone say, "cheese?"

Come for some swell food, a good time, and a drink or two! Heavily tipping the bartender is encouraged as I'm sure neither the Dutch nor American governments would appreciate me working illegally while I'm abroad. :)

here's every Dutch version of Happy Birthday I could find:

Antwerps Dutch : Ne gelukkege verjoardach!
Bilzers Dutch : Ne geleukkege verjoardoag!
Drents Dutch : Fellisiteert!
Flemish Dutch : Gelukkige verjaardag!
or Prettige verjaardag!
Frisian Dutch : Fan herte lokwinske!
Limburgs Dutch : Proficiat! or Perfisia!
Spouwers Dutch : Ne geleukkege verjeurdoag!
Twents Dutch : Gefeliciteard met oen'n verjoardag!
Dutch : Hartelijk gefeliciteerd! or Van harte gefeliciteerd met jeverjaardag!
You spin me right 'round, baby, right 'round

So, how many of us are confirmed for POC's bash?  I will be showing up with some party favors & need to have an idea of who's showing.

I'll be stolling over around 7 (can't miss The Sopranos), brownies in hand.

the princess' pot-luck was fab; thanks to mshray and Beej for hangin'out and special thanks to mshray for the very cool "'60s Album Covers" book. You rule, bub.

I arrived home just in time to hear Little Steven salute this week's anniversary of the Hostess Twinkie by playing Wilson Pickett's version of "Sugar Sugar". Tasty.

Between Joni's "A Case of You" and Gerry Rafferty's "Right Down the Line," we're 2/3 of the way to a "constant as a northern star" My Three Songs.

Hope everyone enjoyed the Billion Dollar Bash.

Sorry I couldn't go.  I'm so far behind in my schoolwork, I don't know how to catch up!

Wish I could have made it too. I was there in spirit.
Last month I was at B&N and picked up a little 70's album covers book. Fun!

I was getting genuinely worried that that meme hadn't yet touched this group & my avatar would go for naught.

Hey gang, is anyone going to KaBOOM?  I've got myself a pass from the wife to go see the music, but I don't have anyone to go with.  I'm psyched to see Los Lonely Boys again, and my friend Carl (who's in China now) saw Ms Tunstall on her last swing through town & raved about her show.  So I'm thinking about going early enough to catch her too.

Anyone?

Hey gang, anyone interested in gathering at my place again on the weekend of the 19th?  Saturday or Sunday, afternoon or evening, I've got the house to myself then so whatever works for y'all.
