BTW, I'm told that the pre-season odds in Vegas on the Rockies going all the way were 125-1.

Finally -- Torre's out as Yanks mgr.  They offered him $5M for one season (a $2M+ pay-cut), tho' there were substantial incentives for each playoff round.  But he rejected the deal.

"Red Sox Nation" as a catchphrase needs to be bitch-slapped.

Not to rub salt in wounds, but this had to be shared:

Wow, there's a short musical bumper at the end of that that Dave also uses in his set intros.

Btw, fully agree about the phrase Red Sox Nation. Falls into the same category as Dallas Cowboys calling themselves America's Team.

Bool. Sheet.
Let's get right to it.

I posted this in the "Cool" thread, but it's more fitting here: 15 laterals!

phooey.  Andruw Jones wins on reputation again, he's really a mediocre CF these days.

I don't think half of these make any sense at all.  But what do I know?

TOTALLY agree with you there.  But I was glad to see Francoeur (19 assists) and Rowand get recognized.

Nice. I'd been reading they were in negotiations all week. The guy is totally worth it. Let them bring in the youngsters at every other position, but glad they're keeping Omar around.

Oh God yes! My Giants pal was phoning me when the news broke. I'm focused on the Giants luncheon now when I have a chance to see and talk to him. One more year at least with potential for 2009 too.
