SHARKS WIN! I'm a likttle foggy this morning    but had a FAB night at the tank seeing Jeremy Roenick score his 500th, http://ap.google.com/article/ALeqM5jyrsDqAiRQxD2o-z_0HSbaH8cgQQD8SRANP80
I made my way to the glass in row 2 for the 2nd and 3rd periods with the goal really close by so saw Roenicks puck slide on in. Great celebration.
Plus 4 goals so Round Table springs for a mini pizza if you turn your ticket in.
whadda fun night! Caught a cover band afterwards playing Metallica and Ozzy and more I can't remember.
Sharks bleed teal.

I was in the car approaching the Bay Bridge toll when Roenick scored. Wish I'd made it home in time to see it! And young Devin Setoguchi (sp?) -- yum!

Curtis Brown and Torry (sp?) Mitchell have the yum factor as well. Some skate sans helmet during the pre game skate so you can really see them. Also nice to see them bending and stretching out on the ice.

It's finally happened: Bonds indicted.

Barry, I hope you enjoy your retirement. The chances of your getting signed by another team just went from slim to zero.
Let's get right to it.

this from the bbc (makes me laugh out loud after just watching american dreamz:

A spokesman for the White House reacted promptly to news of the charges.

"The president is very disappointed to hear this," he said.

"Clearly this is a sad day for baseball."

You're right, that is so totally right out of American Dreamz.

We don't talk college football much here, and Big 12 football not at all, but my midwestern roots are getting more and more excited by the prospect of either Kansas (my mom's alma mater) or Mizzou (the school I grew up rooting for) getting to the national title game, both having arguably their best seasons ever at the same time.  Per ESPN:

Kansas and Missouri meet Saturday in Kansas City for the 116th time, and never has it been more important. The winner goes to the Big 12 title game with national championship hopes in tact*.

*I didn't know that 'tact' was something you could hope for a national championship in, but I'm all for it.

There's a real lack of quality copyediting in sports journalism.

(NB: I hate that "copyediting" is solid as a verb, but I acquiesce to Webster's on that.)

Good "A's at the Winter Meetings" piece in the Chron. Says that before the indictment, "talks between the A's and Barry Bonds were farther along than anyone knew" -- WTF?? Has Billy Beane flipped his lid?

The Mitchell report is out.  A number of big names mentioned, including Clemens and Pettite for starters.
