Today's "Foxtrot" comic in the Chron:

I had to explain the red shirts part of the joke yesterday!
We had just finished re-watching the new Star Trek movie, and yesterday I watched the end of the first one.  That one is special for me, since I helped build the Voyager antennae in my past life, and looking at V-GER at the end is a unique experience!
TANC
Channel 7 showed the first Star Trek movie yesterday afternoon.  Guess I hadn't seen it since '79, enjoyed it.  And remember, it's a solstice lunar eclipse tonight, peaking about 12:15AM our time. Hope the sky is clear enough:

Check this out about the International Space Station.  It looks like science fiction, but it isn't!

For.  Your.  Information.
William Shatner to do solo show 1 night in S.F.
Fresh from opening on Broadway, William Shatner will sail his personal starship into the Orpheum Theatre for one night only, March 11 to present "Shatner's World: We Just Live In It," a solo voyage through his life...

in case you missed this in Sunday's Chron... a docu about starship captains directed by Shatner himself.  Out on DVD -- I'm guessing it will show up on the Comcast On-Demand menu as well

Watching an episode of "Prophets of Science Fiction" on the Science Channel (not to be confused with SyFy) -- an hourlong profile of Robert Heinlein.  Fascinating stuff.

Tonite's ep of Star Trek on Me-TV is the classic "Amok Time", where Spock gets the mating urge and battles Kirk. T'Pau!

I always thought the actor that played Gul Dukat was the same guy that used to be on Where The Action Is.  I was wrong:

Saw that -- HBO has the family film where they build a better dolphin ("Dolphin Tale", aka the six million dollar dolphin) starting at 8.  If I'm not liking it, I will switch to ST.  But I have the deluxe dvd set of TOS, so it's not important that I catch it on MeTV.
