finally a BOS: Echo & the Bunnymen, "Bring On the Dancing Horses". Another band Dave neglects, shamefully.

ETA: so of course the steeam died in the middle of the song!

Tues 6/21: The Peak is playing 10 by the Kinks -- Ray or Dave Davies is appearing locally, I presume?

ETA: It's Ray Davies' birthday (he's 61).

I musta been on the same wavelength, I listened to a block of Kinks on my CD while driving to work:  "Celluloid Heroes", "Dedicated Follower of Fashion", "Living On A Thin Line", "Lola", "Set Me Free", "Waterloo Sunset".  I even listened to "Living On A Thin Line" twice.

1978: a rarely heard Nick Lowe gem from Pure Pop..., "They Call it Rock".

They cut another record
It never was a hit
And someone in the newspaper said it was shit

and Rob played solo David Johanssen too -- a truly Noo Yawk experience.

'84 on the Peak (as well as the Drive) today. This set's a Morey-esque ramble: BOS "Last Nite I Got Loaded", VHM JCM "Authority Song".

"I Got Loaded" is one of the best drinking songs in the history of music, used to great effect in Bull Durham.

'89 today -- notable because they're actually playing a B-52s song that isn't "Love Shack" or "Roam". "Deadbeat Club" rules!

Agreed -- especially when they name-drop "96 Tears" on the jook.

they also (mshray alert!) played "Monkey Gone to Heaven" by the Pixies. And, unfortunately, "Good Thing" by FYC.

Welcome back, Gaz you were missed!

"Deadbeat Club" rules indeed!  I have over the years been at a couple of friends-with-kids houses & for whatever reason 3 year-olds all love this song, including my own.

Sorry to have missed the Pixies!

Tuesday, 1985: Rob takes a page from Dave's book with Cock Robin, but ends with the Ramones' "Sha La la", which I don't think Dave's EVER played.

Wed 6/29: arrived late (thanks, BART!) for the tail end of a 1975 set. "Bad Sneakers" and a Pina Colada on "Thunder Road"...

OMGWTF! Joni, from Hissing of Summer Lawns and a track that isn't "In France They Kiss on Main St"!  Dave's never played this: "Harry's House/Centerpiece". Wow.
