naughty boy (it's mostly about bball):

L. a. lakers fast break makers
Kinds of the court shake and bake all takers
Back to back is a bad ass fact a claim that remains in tact
M-a-g-i-c see you on the court
Buck has come to play his way and his way is to thwart
M-a-g-i-c magic of the buck
Other teams pray for dreams
But he dont give a fuck
Penetrating the lane like a bullet train
Comes the magic blood a telepathic brain
Knucklehead suckers better duck
When the buck comes through like a truck
Scott stops pops and drops it in
On his way back gets a little skin
From the hand of a man named a. c. green
Slam so hard break your t.v. screen
Worthys hot with his tomahawk
Take it to the hole make your mamma talk
I hate to burst your bubble but triple double trouble
Is coming to your town and hes going to make rubble
L. a. lakers fast break makers
Kings of the court shake and bake all takers
Back to back is a bad ass fact a claim that remains in tact
Lakers are the team that I watch on the telly
Cause they got more moves
That a bowl full of jelly
The buck stops here - pops - then cheers
A roar through the forum
That deafens my ears
The one and only know if his kind
Sits in a throne
Not for the records that he holds
But for being bald and bold
Kareem abdul jabbar
All time great super super star
I hate to burst your bubble but triple double trouble
Is coming to your town and hes going to make rubble
Does anybody want some magic johnson
L. a. lakers fast break makers
Kings of the court shake and bake all takers
Back to back is a bad ass fact a claim that remains in tact

Mac Davis, "Baby Don't Get Hooked on Me"

Alice Cooper, "You and Me"
Charlie Rich, "The Most Beautiful Girl"
Mike Doughty, "Fort Hood" (wow, did this one slam me)

My latest round of iTunes purchases...

Diana Ross & Marvin Gaye, "You Are Everything"

Just wonderful. I'd never heard it until I started listening to CG (it was a UK hit single, tho' it did nada in the US -- Mo-Mo-Motown's mistake!)

Bought yesterday from the Virgin Megastore as I take advantage of some good deals:

Brian Wilson, That Lucky Old Sun (his new one)
Morrissey, Years of Refusal (his new one)
Of Montreal, Skeletal Lamping (their latest, came out last fall)
Concrete Blonde, The Essential

Also received from friends burned copies of:

VA, Ghetto Funk Sessions: Superbad Jazz, Funk and Soul from the Heart of the City
and an MP3 CD of almost the entire Carole King catalog

Anyone curious about any of the above?

which "Goin' Back" is that? Carole solo or with The City (if that City LP is part of the package, I'm impressed)

There are a handful of City selections, but "Goin' Back" is the version from the Writer album.

This seems as likely a thread as any to post this.

If you go to http://www.1800goguard.com/warriorchallenge/form.php?questions
you can score 50 free downloads. I have already downloaded 36 of my 50. It was easy to do but it is the Guard so email spam might come one day. I didn't have to give too much info. It's worth it if you want freebies. The tunes load right into my iTunes. If you have multiple email addys, you can get more tunes.

Have fun!
