Awesome.  Growing up a Lou Brock fan all I can say is I couldn't agree more.

And the article fails to mention that, although not known as a power hitter, RH has something like twice as many leadoff homeruns as anyone else ITHOB (in the history of baseball).  I think this is one of the three records that none of us will live long enough to see broken, along with Ryan's 7 No-no's and DiMaggio's 56.  Williams' .400 is a near 4th, but, unless y'all feel like I haven't pontificated enough lately*, I won't go into why I think so.

He was fun to watch, for sure.

I saw him hit a leadoff dinger in person when he was w the Yanks.  I count that among my top BB memories.

As much as I was annoyed by his recent Prop 8 involvement I must agree that was a classy news conferece and Chron interview.

TANC: he mentioned Dave Winfield, who I saw being interviewed in DC by Chris Matthews on Inauguration Day.

As a 49ers fan, there is one good reason and that is to prevent the Steelers from winning Super Bowl #6, which would pass the 49ers and some morons on Dallas. But I think Pittsburgh wins.

ETA: I read where Warner has seven children. It seems like these God fearing people have a ton of kids.

I could never root for the Steelers and never have, unless they played Dallas (in earlier years).  But after SB XV (as a Seahwaks fan), I would even root for the 'Boys instead of the Hypocycloids.

Warner inherited two of those kids when he married his older, divorced wife Brenda.  And I think the five additional kids he has with her include a set of twins.  Say what you will about his outspoken religious views, but he sure has had an interesting life.  I guarantee you that in another generation or so they will make a biopic about him - totally made for Hollywood.  F'rinstance, did you know that Brenda's parents were both killed by a tornado? 

You couldn't make this shit up.
