Giles, who holds limited veto rights, has apparently scuttled the deal.  Guess he'd rather have useless at bats in a cavernous ballpark where he can't hit double-digit home runs anymore than have a chance at a ring on the bench with the Sox.

I just saw the ESPN clip of his press conference with the Jets.  He was absolutely *wincing* with discomfort when he talked about how happy he was to be there.

If they'd been women wrestlers, or indeed women in any sport, they'd be celebrated as heroes instead of kicked off the team.
