As many of you know, I don't follow hockey. For those who love the sport and the Sharks, I say root for them. But as the old saying goes misery loves company so I'm rooting against San Jose to win the Stanley Cup ONLY because as a Giants fan I don't want them to be the only pro team in the Bay Area not to win a championship (in the Bay Area as I know the Giants won 5 in New York). Not counting the one year teams like the XFL team, every other Bay Area pro team, big and small (i.e. baseball, football, soccer) has won a title.

Senseless!  No less love for the Giants but they aren't going to shine this season. We know it, they know it. Fans will stick with them through a losing season.

OMFG! That was my boy, JR! I would have just regretted not being there even more if he got a hat trick last night. As bad luck has it, I'll be at the Giants Friday night instead of R2 game 1 Sharks. Darn. That was a helluva game. WOW WOW WOW.

So I was just checking the Giants schedule to see if the play my Cardinals anymore.

Turns out the G-men are 4-3 vs. StL and 4-10 vs. everyone else.

Conversely the Cards are 3-4 vs. SF and 10-4 vs. everyone else.  Fortunately for them (& unfortunately, it would seem, for the Giants) the season series is finished.

Oh, and the A's also picked up Rajai Davis off wavers from the Giants. He was considered a bright light for the G-men for a minute or three late last season.

He'd been traded to the G's by the Pirates for Matt Morris, who's now allowing a run per inning in Pittsburgh and really should quit now.

I saw Smart People last nite -- not great, but filmed in P'burgh (the lead character is a prof at Carnegie Mellon), and someone refers to the city as "the Paris of Western Pennsylvania".
