BOS to a strictly instrumental Katrina, "Cause We Have Ended As Lovers."  I will never tire of this.

VHM, "In Memory of Elizabeth Reed".  A buddy of mine made it out to see Dickie Betts at Slims Monday, said it was fab.

SRV Jeff Beck, of course.  Well, this was a pleasant set, if a bit snoozy.  Nothing really earth-shattering, bustout-wise (read: none of my requests got played).

is it over already?  oh well, some good, some not so good.

I'm curious what everyone's requests might have been?

Oooh, strong finish with Allman Brothers' "In Memory of Elizabeth Reed".  A great tune that's fun to play.

Not sure if this is tune #10 or not--we may have one yet to go. But a very strong contender nonetheless. And a bustout as well, as far as the DB goes.

ETA: Guess I better start practicing counting to 10.  ;)

Bad stream compression artifacts on this one too.

Stevie Wonder wrote "Cause..."?  I had no idea.

I've been swamped at work and did not know she was taking requests -- if I had known, I would have requested "Whammer Jammer", which would have added a little energy to the set.

My request was Mongonucleosis, by Chicago. Dave played it once about 4 years ago in a SI set. A kinda funky, Latinesque piece with lots of percusssion, a cool horn part and a great groove.

AL's sets (even with years) are often conceptual, it seems to me -- about an overall sound, which is something Dave didn't really do.  Next instrumental set could be latin-flavored, and then we'll get your request, plus Santana, Deodato...

Good point. Seemed like this set was mostly about great guitar tunes, with a short horn-influenced interlude in the middle there. Pretty nice set in any case. I was distracted during the backsell--what got Best of Set?

ETA: I'll have to hang around for the Bonus track--curious which direction she'll take that with her suggestions.

(other choices were "The Horse" by Cliff Nobles, and SRV.)
