Monday Morning Blues
« Reply #30 on: May 09, 2005, 08:38:40 AM »
"Hypnotized" kicked off the 7am hour & closed out the H's.  very tasty.

The I's might take all day, but already they've skipped "I Believe In A  Thing Called Love", "I Confess" & "I Do The Rock".

Skipping The Darkness, which was certainly a 2004-specific song is understandable, but skipping "I Confess"?  Blasphemy!

Clearly they want this thing to be over before the weekend. Given that they only do it once a year (whereas a few years back they did it every 6 months), that's especially sad.

Since then they've skipped the following:
I Fall Down - U2
I Feel Fine - Beatles
I Got Loaded - Los Lobos (not fair!)
I Got My Mojo Working - Paul Butterfield Blues Band.

No shit!

The score so far in the I's:  20 songs played, only 1 of which (I.G.Y.) was new, 15 songs skipped.

Yikes!

Where was "I.G.Y." placed alphabetically?  After the "If ..." songs, or at the very beginning of the I's?

You're talking about the English Beat song, right? Well then, cool your ire, cuz they played it, at 7:57 according to the KFOG Just Played engine.
Let's get right to it.

Actually no, they didn't.  I was listening.  And a few songs later they erred in the opposite direction, playing Hootie's "I Go Blind" but not listing it in the Just Played Db.

But praise jesus, they just played "If I Had A Boat" by Lyle Lovett.  That makes up for a lot.

I heard it, I swear. I was making a pot of tea and feeding the dog, and I remember thinking "well, here's another of those songs that only gets played during A to Z and 10@10."
Let's get right to it.

After leaving off last nite with "Let My Love Open the Door", they picked up this morning with "Let the Good Times Roll" by... BB King. Which means they skipped the Cars song of the same name. Finally, an omission we can live with!

Of course, a couple songs later they played the Cars' "Let's Go"...

to hear Derek and the Dominoes' Little Wing or Steve Miller's Livin' in the USA, regardless of how many times I've heard them.

I was diggin' those too--the post-set A/Z selections today were pretty nice.
