we're in the "S" songs -- this thing'll be over tomorrow, methinks.

I had the same thought this am. Once they get past the Ts, they've only got a few hours of stuff left. The Ws could take a couple of hours, but U,V, X & Z are all good for about half a dozen songs apiece (or less).

ETA: Oops, almost forgot Y.

Well whaddaya know. I figured Annalisa would finish the Ss, but I just tuned in to see where they were, and Big Rick just played Suffragette City followed Sugar Mountain. So there's a little bit to go before they hit T--all the "sweet" songs--Sweet Martha Lorraine any one? Probably will hear Sweet Child O Mine again, but probably not Sweetleaf.

Hey Geoff, here's Sugaree! (Probably no Sugar Mag tho--that would have preceded Sugar Mountain.)
Sweet indeed!

I'll switch over to AtoZ after CGSS. Hoping "X Offender" gets played before 4pm.

questions, questions, questions...

Annalia's in the midst of the what/where/when/which/who/why stretch of the W's... it's What I Need.

Ray Charles, "What'd I Say?"  Maybe the nicest surprise of this year's A-to-Z. Did they play this last year?

Can't recall--Mshray's the man to answer that question.

But if they're in the Ws now, then they should wrap this up sometime during Big Rick's show, methinks.

Wonder how big an effect the A-Z thing has on their numbers (May is an Arbitron sweeps month after all.)
Let's get right to it.

I can only assume it does well for them or else they wouldn't keep doing it. But I think they blew it this time by not making it longer. Not only did 95.7 flip to the "jack"-like format, "Max", while this was going on, but several local stations including Star 101.3 have been having "playing whatever we want" weekends.  KFOG could've at least stretched it out until Sun nite.

And WTF happened with the X's?

the Just Played feature shows that between the last W ("Wrapped Around Your Finger") and the first Y ("Year of the Cat"), they played... "Brother Down" by Sam Roberts ?  HUH???

I'm curious if the whole thing is done or not. Big Rick played Zooropa right before the replay last night, so they were getting close, but I didn't stick around long enough to hear what came afterward. Guess we'll know after the marathon this morning.

Uhhh, that was me. It is pretty easy to do that when you're not used to posting from home, isn't it?

That WAS the end, Big Rick made a big deal out of it. And unless he was gonna play "Zorba the Greek" by Herb Alpert (or unless someone wrote songs called "Zygote" or "Zzzzzz") I guess it was a fine end. Still wondering about the X's, tho'.

Last year they didn't play "What'd I Say", they went from WHAT WOULD YOU SAY - DAVE MATTHEWS to WHAT'S THE FREQUENCY KENNETH - REM.

For the X's they did play Olivia AND Blondie.

But my biggest question is about the When's (or to be more specific the WHE songs) which last year was probably my favorite stretch of 10 songs I've ever heard on the radio outside 10@10, and went like this:

WHEEL, the - JERRY GARCIA
WHEEL IN THE SKY - JOURNEY
WHEN I COME AROUND - GREEN DAY
WHEN DOVES CRY - PRINCE
WHEN I'M 64 - BEATLES
WHEN THE LEVEE BREAKS - LED ZEPPELIN
WHEN LOVE COMES TO TOWN - U2/B.B. KING
WHEN THE WHIP COMES DO - ROLLING STONES
WHEN THE WORLD IS RUNNING DOWN - POLICE
WHEN YOU DANCE - NEIL YOUNG
WHEN WE WAS FAB - GEORGE HARRISON

I guess they played no more than 2/3 of those this time around.
"Music is the Earth, People are the Flowers, and I am the Hose."

And didn't they used to post the whole list on the website? Not this year (at least I can't find it). To avoid comparisons, perhaps?
