That evening at 6pm, Gary Vaynerchuk (the winelibrary guy) is promoting his new book at the Booksmith on Haight.  Mike, I think I'll check that out and then head to your nabe from there, if that works.

BTW - anyone know if there's an outfit in SF that rents netbooks by the day or week?  I'd like to have something to check email and Web and jot notes while wandering the city over the next 10 days, but I haven't bought a laptop yet.

Picking up on a comment in today's 10@10 thread: other than Mark seeing Gaz the other nite, has anyone else been in touch with the visitors?  is there going to be a gathering this weekend, other than some of us seeing the princess in SF fri nite?  I know Gaz is going to one of the Bridge shows with Alicat.

I've been sleeping too late to catch 10@10 this week. I'll try again tomorrow. POC, do you have a cell or other phone number while in town?  My buddy Carl also happens to be here now, and he leaves from SF (where he's shooting videos) to go directly to Madrid (to shoot more videos for the same contract). He'd love to catch up to you if possible.

OK, I suppose I'll be at the Argus tonite, but I'd hoped an all-of-us-together-in-one-place gathering might've materialized by now. Not sure what happened there, guess there's still hope between now and when our visitors leave town.  My offer for shanghai dumplings still stands.

In any case, for anyone going to the Argus tonite:  the show's at 9 (I think) and dinner is still a possibility. There's a cool new wine bar in my 'hood -- Noeteca, at the corner of Dolores & Valley Streets

I'm going to try and make it.  It's pretty late for an old fart teacher on a Friday night, but at least I can sleep in on Saturday a little.
