LOL! Yeah. I just hope that was Shirley's idea of a little joke.

But, I'll bet ol' Agnes has some interesting stories to tell nevertheless.

She probably knows where all the skeletons are buried!

Doubtful.

She has a mini-interview in the current Newsweek, with the following exchange at the end:

Newsweek: My father was such a big fan of yours.
Shirley (obviously noting the 'was'):  Is your father still alive?
Newsweek:  No.  He passed away 2 years ago.
Shirley:  I'll tell him "Hi" tonight.

It's her "schtick" -- she thinks it's what people expect from her.  Whether she really believes it is another story.

Did anyone else hear the Rob Thomas/ Tom Cruise "rumor" story on KFOG this morning? Apparently it's been spreading via the internet and Rob denies it vehemently. (Mr Thomas, to his credit, is far more upset at being called a Scientologist than he is at being called gay.)

in a related development (but I forgot which thread the anagrams were in): "Katie Holmes" is an anagram for "Tom Likes a He". LOL!

BTW, I noticed yesterday he has now made it into print -- he appears twice weekly now in the actual paper, rather than just online at sfgate.  I wonder how much he'll have to tone it down?

I had the same thought -- the whole thing with being on-line is that the satndards are looser.

The rumor's been floating for weeks, and while I often take a stance of "where there's smoke, there's fire," it always comes back to one single, dubious source.
“The choir of children sing their song.  They've practiced all year long.  Ding dong.  Ding dong.  Ding dong.”

Because to go from living in a rather nice house in The Haight to a trailer park in Daly City sounds like Hell?

Does the story involve a large rifle and even larger paranoia in a garage in the Lower Haight?

If so, then yes.  If not, then I know two people who have met him.

WHOA! Well, no. Mine involves cigarettes, a bus stop at 3am and a pleasant conversation in the Lower Haight. No rifles. But, by the same token- I wouldn't be surprised.

So, you DO know 2 people who have encountered him.
