Possibly the best call-em-as-I-see-em political blog I've read this entire election season. This 83-year-old woman from Texas has the stones to come out and call Palin a bitch straight out, while telling McCain he should sit down and shut up. Her post titled "Maverick my ass" alone is priceless.

(Obviously word has gotten around on this--she's getting huge hits, and comments number in the hundreds.)
I must confess I spent way too much time reading that...but I don't believe *this* Helen Philpot is who she claims to be. I think it's just a scam. No proof, it's just a feeling.

I did find this in the process, though:

Is this really happening?  Are we really questioning Obama's character?

I'm curious how old that picture is. 10 years? Less? Any guesses?
Let's get right to it.

I have been fighting the visceral urge to remove McCain/Palin signs from their staked positions. I have seen too many of them in my beloved city. I'm scared.

Christopher Buckley (son of William F) endorses Obama:

Buckley, as a result of his Obama endorsement, has just resigned from The National Review -- the magazine his father founded. And neocon Christopher Hitchens (one of the big early supporters of the Iraq war) just endored O:

This just in: McCain's pal Joe the Plumber? He's not a licensed plumber and he doesn't make $250K:

Not only that, he's not registered to vote:

there's also a report that the plumber, Joe Wurzelbacher, is related to Robert Wurzelbacher of Keating Five fame. Stay tuned.

Five minutes of fame can have devastating results.
