Bummer: no Casey this morning; our Canuck friends are still all-Xmas and my Saturday backups are unavailable too.

Found a Canadian station that started the show at 4:00 Pacific.  "Blind Man in the Bleachers" followed by "Bad (Baaaad) Blood (Bloooood)" -- Oy.

But BOS1 5000 Volts' "I'm on Fire", ripping off a hook from "Black Is Black" for a delightful early-disco ditty.

'86, Hour 1: proxy of shray, Timbuk 3.  LN1: David & David.

wow, I haven't heard Daryl Hall's "Foolish Pride" in eons.  BOSFRA.

WOS1 Billy Ocean's generic "Love is Forever", one of the many bland ballads he became addicted to, post-"Going Gets Tough".

VHM Miss-Jackson-if-ya-nasty, in "Control".  LN2: Genesis, in "Confusion"

BOS2 Tina Turner's unfairly forgotten "Typical Male" -- a #2 smash that never gets airplay anywhere these days.

WOS2 Survivor. "Is This Love?" -- no, it's crap.

Worst Rhyme of the Day: Lisa Lisa sets dis house on fy-uh. 'Cause she's ty-uh'd.

Hour 2: you know HoJo loves, you, don't you?  Proxy of Gaz.

BOS3 Anita Baker's still-gorgeous "Sweet Love"

oy: LN3 Robbie Nevil.

I honestly don't remember 'Til Tuesday's "What About Love". I honestly want to forget Corey Hart's "I Am By Your Side"

VHM OMD "(F)L&D"

Girl, put on that big bulky coat stuffed with goose feathers, 'cause Gregory Abbot wants to shake your down.

Hour 3: an hour chock full o' LNs (Ocasek, Bangles, Billy Idol, Wang Chung) begins with Winwood's semen overspill. I'm bailing.

If someone named "Love Is Forever" the most boring hit song of the 1980's, I wouldn't argue.

The Survivor isn't particularly bad, IMHO, just not very memorable.

I too had forgotten about "What About Love" until I got Aimee Mann's Ultimate Collection. 'Til Tuesday didn't get the appreciation they deserved.

Surely Oran Juice Jones made an appearance.

"Typical Male" is one of many songs that should have, but as far as I know hasn't, made an 86 10@10 appearance.

BOS to HoJo, arguably my favorite effort from him.

The Canucks are still in Xnmas-land. WJER's website says they're running Casey at 1p Eastern/10a Pacific, but they're actually airing high school basketball. Sheesh.

ETA: Finally found a station running Casey's '70s at 4pm Saturday. A wonderful chart.

1985, Hour 1:   instant WOS Night Ranger, "Goodbye" -- their last Top 40 hit, appropriately.

uber-BOS1 "Sun City"!

TaMara & the Seen are on the scene. Proxy of Gaz.

"It's Only Love" -- BOS2 Tina, WOS2 Bryan.

Something of a guilty pleasure, David Foster's lush instrumental from St Elmo's Fire -- reminiscent of '70s cheeze like Hagood Hardy's "Homecoming". VHM.

Couple of (justifiably) forgotten female solo hits" Sheena's "Do it For Love" and Olivia's "Soul Kiss".

come on shake your body baby do da CON-gah!

VHM Sting, surfing the 7th wave.

found a station that plays '70s  on Sunday since I missed it yesterday. Ace Frehley, Barry M. Anne Murray... great stuff

Fogelberg/Weissberg -- 2 Jews singin' 'bout gold. Eric Cartman becomes apoplectic.

BOS EJ's seldom-heard "Part Time Love"; BOS2 Ms Ronstadt covering Smokey. ooo-la-la-la-la!

Hour 2: "How You Gonna See Me Now?" asks Alice Cooper. "Not often", replies America.  VHM.

BOS3 Eric Carmen's lovely "Change of Heart"

Double-swoon at #s 3 and 4:  Gino V's "I Just Wanna Stop" and Barbra/Neil "You Don't Bring Me Flowers"

Even tho' I've heard this show before, this Bo Donaldson "Heartbreak Kid" song made no impression on me.  Ditto the Guess Who's "Dancin' Fool" and Andy Kim's redundantly-titled "Fire, Baby, I'm on Fire" (even more Diamond-y than "Rock Me Gently"), and the Righteous Bros "Dream On".  It's an obscurity-fest tonite!

Barbara, don't you be comin' outta no bag on Shirley -- she scratch yo' eyes out, bitch!  BOS1.

BOS2 George's "Dark Horse"; BOS3 Kiki Dee, she's got something in her. Must be music, because it couldn't possibly be cock.
