WOS3 "Athena", one of my least-fave Who singles -- I know most folks hate "Squeeze Box" but this is far worse IMHO. "She's a bomb" indeed.

always a BOS for JJ's "Steppin' Out", LN tho' it is.  But WOSes to CSN's "Southern Cross" and REO's "Sweet Time".

Listening to '72 on CKWS and I'll catch '74 tonite on Magic 98.  instant LN: "All the Young Dudes". Produced by David Bowie and "you'll be hearing more about him" says Casey.

Albert Hammond checks the weather; Joe Cocker checks the clock; America venture a highway.

WOS1 Grand Funk Railroad's little-heard "Rock'N'Roll Soul" -- I'd completely forgotten this made the Top 40. And with good reason.

BOS1 Mr Croce's "Operator",  a textbook lesson in story-song structure.

Best rarity so far: The Band's live Marvin Gaye cover "Don't Do It" BOS2.

The Corneliuses brothered and then sister rose. VHM "Don't Evah be Lonely"

VHM Hot Butter's cheeze-tastic "Popcorn". They GOTS to have a mutha fo' me!

BOS3 Rev Al's "You Oughta Be With Me".

uber-BOS4 Cashman & West's wonderful "American City Suite" -- doot-dooda-doo-doo.  Relatively long version too. And stunningly appropriate given the week's events.

VHM Sam Neely, no relation to Ted, with the Kristofferson-esque "Lovin' You Just Crossed My Mind"

Also appropriate: "Elected", which I'm sure Renee will play on Tues.

This week, That '70s Casey will again offer just one "regular" option to affiliates; apparently this will be the norm thru the end of the year as so many stations switch to all-Xmas during Nov/Dec. We're getting Nov 17th 1979, tho' none of the stations I usually listen to will carry the 4-hour version, sadly. We will get to hear EJ's Victim of Love", Kermit doing "Rainbow Connection",  and Barry Manilow covering Ian Hunter, however.

Bummer: CKRU and CKWS have gone All-XMAS -- first time they've done that. CKRU is runnung a Casey Kasem Xmas special in lieu of the 1979 chart.  I'm hunting for an alternative.

ETA: my fallback, WJER isn't running Casey either -- they're committed to local college football.

ETA2: WQMA (the backup to my backup) usually starts at 11am Pacific but the started at 10 -- so I missed Kermit and Elton.
