That JP Morgan Chase ad you hear in the stream, the one with the Scottish guy and the younger woman touting how the bank helped their small business, uses the acoustic guitar part from Cat Steven's The Wind

Montell Jordan's "This is How We Do It" is selling Pepsi on some clever let's-really-stick-it-to-Coke spots.  Maybe now we can get AL to play it in a 1995 set.

Meanwhile that Miracle Whip "there's a party in my mouth" guy has got to go. Eww.

Most hilariously bad misappropriation of hip-hop yet: the "when ah say PINEAPPLE, you say MANGO" McDonald's spots (for their new smoothies). Can't tell if it's an actual rapper or an actor playing one, but I LOLed at the absurdity of it.  Smoothies jus' be SO gangsta.

While watching the SciFi channel (hate its new misspelling of its name as SyFy, btw) over the last week I've seen a commercial for a new shoot-em-up computer game that uses a cover of Nilsson's Best Friend (aka the theme from The Courtship of Eddie's Father). The irony in this is that probably a good 80% or more of the target market for this game are too young to get the reference.
Let's get right to it.

How many different commercials has Iggy's "The Passenger" been used in now? Just saw it in a Captain Morgan spot.

It's become the "Still The One" of Gen X.
Let's get right to it.

OMG: just saw the new Jack-in-the-Box commercial with the cop, fireman & construction worker... I won't spoil it, but great punchline.

And now they've remade "Only in My Dreams" as "Only in My Jeans".  Guess Old Navy's target demo is the same as DC's  ;)

OMFG: they've also turned Salt'N'Pepa's "Let's Talk About Sex" into "Let's Talk About Jeans". Oy.

worse yet: they've made "Sister Christian" even worse than it was -- didn't think that was possible.

But the dog and the cockatoo singing "Take on Me" for Geico is genius.

So I'm watching the Weather Channel and the local commercials come on... and they show a spot for "Countdown with Keith Olbermann on MSNBC". Not lately, pal.  (It was the one with the kid at the spelling bee.)  Ooops!

J.Lo is doing the umpteenth version of "Venus" on those lady razor commercials -- talk about unnecessary!

Just heard a local spot on 1340 The Boardwalk for a chiropractic group. The tagline: "remember, no one touches you like your chiropractor". Er, seriously??
