How long ago was yours?  I saw the commercial twice last nite; I don't recall seeing it before.  Target is also using a cover of "Hello Goodbye" on another spot.

Just saw Sally Field (!) doing a commercial for some prescription-only osteoperosis medicine.

Just saw a Tide commercial featuring a version of "America the Beautiful" that sounds to me like it's being sung by Jill Sobule.

ETA: oops, it's Cyndi Lauper!

But in finding that out, I stumbled upon this interesting tidbit: Ms. Lauper originally wrote "True Colors" for Anne Murray -- who turned it down.  Ironically, Cyndi's now using the song to raise money for the Human Rights Campaign Fund.

Well, we know Anne's "true colors" are lavender and pink, but she pretends they're beige and gray.

"All You Need is LUVS"?  haven't actually seen this commercial yet, but predictably some are upset:

Tis the season I guess. Last night I saw a Planters Peanut commercial that used the Bay City Rollers' S-A-T-U-R-D-A-Y Night.
Let's get right to it.

The White Stripes' "Conquest" is now a commercial for eBay. (Personally, I think it sounds like it belongs in an Austin Powers sequel.)

The University of Phoenix--that online diploma factory--has signed on the New Pornographers' Bleeding Heart Show (the best song off their 2005 Twin Cinema) in their latest TV campaign. (The same song is also going to be featured in a soon-to-be-released movie, but I can't recall which one.)
Let's get right to it.
