Not sure of the year yet, but if you're not tuned in already, hurry up.  Dave went to commercial at 9:51 & said "Ten@Ten is next."

So unless he plans to play 8 minutes of ads, were in for a very early start.

Me too, but maybe later stuff, like '94 or after.

well, '88 is close enough to bad for me. T.Heads is a nice start, tho'. May not get much better, actually.

Not a bad start tho--T. Heads' Mr. Jones. One of the better swan-song albums out there. Except that, at least this song, is more indicative of the direction Byrne was heading (Latin music) than a continuation what the Heads had been doing up to that point.

That said, it rocks.
Let's get right to it.

Just imagine how good this album would have been if it included the 2 songs recorded in these sessions, but which didn't appear until later on the retrospective Sand In The Vaseline: "Sax & Violins" and "Lifetime Piling Up".

The former is probably my favorite TH song all-time.

what I'd love:

Prince, Alphabet St.
MJ, Another Part of Me
TTD, If You Let Me Stay (but betcha we get Wishing Well)
Bobby Brown, Don't Be Cruel (but betcha we get the Cheap Trick cover of the same name)
Joan Jett, I Hate Myself For Lovin' You
Lita Ford, Kiss Me Deadly
Kylie Minogue, I Should Be So Lucky
You spin me right 'round, baby, right 'round

I'm not saying that "Let It Roll" is a great song, but of all the attempts that have been made by bands to carry on after their acknowledged leader has departed (& especially if said leader has left this mortal coil), this is amongst the most OK.

Any nominees for most egregious &/or most appealing in this category?  This promises to be a fairly forgetable set otherwise.

HM "Rain in the Summertime". A song that has more meaning if you've actually lived where it gets hot and then rains in the summertime.

I was thinking this sounded pretty good compared to the rest.  I was looking at the iTunes 1988 list, and it's pretty depressing.
