Another bustout, BS&T You Made Me So Very Happy.

Are there two lead singers on this song, or is David Clayton Thomas able to handle the higher tenor parts as well as the growlier parts in his normal range?

I think he jumps into his throat and "head voice" to cover the highs, while he sings from his diaphragm for the lows.  Sorta like Axl Rose.
But that high throat singing can ruin your voice.  Sorta like Axl Rose.

Whoawhoa-fucking-whoa! Bustout of the day, Allmans, from their first record, Just Ain't My Cross to Bear.

(Covered by Gregg solo about 20 years later, but not nearly as powerful as this rendition.)
Let's get right to it.

...still flashing back to that rare clip Gaz & I saw courtesy of Richie Unterberger.  Damn!

I'm going to see his presentation this Wednesday at the Park Library on Page Street in SF.  (thanks to Gaz for the tip!)

AL never does a '60s set without at least one ATBB; so far we've had 2 that I know of (I'm unsure about the Who track, which would make 3 if it's not in the shraytabase).

VHM this high-larious Ventures commercial. One of their 38 charted LPs, no doubt.  BOS6 "H5-0"

I'm sure it's been discussed to death here, but I find it hysterical that AL would regularly follow 10@10 with arguably one of the blandest hits of the decade (and this from a band that I generally enjoy).

Perhaps they're under instructions to play certain songs at least once per shift, so she's just getting it out of the way early. See also: the current Rob Thomas piece of drek.

Peppermint Rainbow!  Cuff Links!

BTW Gaz your signature quote is slightly off.

Merci buckets!  Fixed.

PS: I cannot believe someone thought to make a shirt of that.

I went for a look-see at the 1969 Top 40 chart, and I saw this, anyone ever heard of it?

"Let A Woman Be A Woman - Let A Man Be A Man" by Dyke & The Blazers, #36.

no, but love the irony of that title being sung by someone called Dyke.

Some people say now
Living in a joke, ha
People said, yes, they did
Country's going up in smoke

I got a message
They need to know
Gotta let a woman be a woman
And let a man be a man
Gotta let a woman be a woman
And let a man be a man

Listen
Some people call me
Broadway Tramp now
They even said, yes, they did
I had no place to stay

Listen
Cause I hung around now
Down on Broadway

Gotta let a woman be a woman
And let a man be a man, ha
Gotta let a woman be a woman
And let a man be a man

But listen, dig it now
Some people don't like
The way Sally walks

Gotta let a woman be a woman
And let a man be a man
Gotta let a woman be a woman
And let a man be a man

Listen, get off my back
Leave me alone
Leave me alone
And that woman too

Talk about something, yeah
Gonna benefit you...

I YouTubed it: musically and vocally it's a total JB knockoff.  Not sure quite what he's getting at; I reflexively suspect Sally was too butch for that Dyke.  Sigh.

the only music AL (or anybody at KFOG) *chooses* to play is on 10@10, or the occasional Morning Show track (where they have leeway regarding topical stuff and of course Request-O-Rama) . Everything else is programmed by computer which is why stuff like "21 Guns" and DMB and Snow Patrol comes up like clockwork every 4-5 hours.
