Looks like AL's hitting the smoother side of '69 today.

Katrina though it may be, VHM Na Na Hey Hey etc.
Let's get right to it.

I went for a look-see at the 1969 Top 40 chart, and I saw this, anyone ever heard of it?

"Let A Woman Be A Woman - Let A Man Be A Man" by Dyke & The Blazers, #36.

I've seen the chart entry but have never heard the song.

I hope AL stays in bubblegum-land.  Peppermint Rainbow!  Cuff Links!

Alas, no. A shifting of gears to the 'Oo, See Me Feel Me.

Dick Martin skinnydipping is a mental image I'd rather not have.
Let's get right to it.

no, but love the irony of that title being sung by someone called Dyke.

Say goodnight, Dyke!

Another bustout, BS&T You Made Me So Very Happy.

Are there two lead singers on this song, or is David Clayton Thomas able to handle the higher tenor parts as well as the growlier parts in his normal range?
Let's get right to it.

During yesterday's Raiders game, Gumble and Dierdorf were talking about the Who appearing at the Superbolw halftime show.  They mentioned a bunch of hits, then Dierdorf goes "Pinball Wizard -- love the piano at the beginning of that one!"   oops...  He did sort of correct himself quickly, though, by saying "Elton John's cover of that is really great."

Some people say now
Living in a joke, ha
People said, yes, they did
Country's going up in smoke

I got a message
They need to know
Gotta let a woman be a woman
And let a man be a man
Gotta let a woman be a woman
And let a man be a man

Listen
Some people call me
Broadway Tramp now
They even said, yes, they did
I had no place to stay

Listen
Cause I hung around now
Down on Broadway

Gotta let a woman be a woman
And let a man be a man, ha
Gotta let a woman be a woman
And let a man be a man

But listen, dig it now
Some people don't like
The way Sally walks

Gotta let a woman be a woman
And let a man be a man
Gotta let a woman be a woman
And let a man be a man

Listen, get off my back
Leave me alone
Leave me alone
And that woman too

Talk about something, yeah
Gonna benefit you...
