Thanks to a blurb in Leah Garchik's column in the Chron, my new fave food blog, by a guy who resolved last year to eat at EVERY Chinese restaurant in SF. He's up to #400 of 415 so far. And yes, Shanghai Dumpling King is in his top ten. Oh, he eats other food too.

Sushi at... Walgreens??

http://www.sfgate.com/cgi-bin/article.cgi?f=/c/a/2011/05/17/BUC11JG5EG.DTL

Funny, in NYC last week I noticed that Duane Reade (the ubiquitous drugstore chain there) was doing the same thing -- many of their stores are now half supermarket/half pharmacy.  I didn't know that Duane Reade is now owned by... Walgreens!

From SF Foodie @ SF Weekly:

Food Along Party Lines. Hunch.com released this chart of stats

http://blog.hunch.com/?p=48884

gleaned from almost 350,000 respondents, dividing eating habits along political lines. These fun facts are sure to provide a few chuckles -- conservatives qualified Chinese takeout as "exotic ethnic food," liberals are more likely to find a bacon cheeseburger "disgusting," and everybody prefers a diagonally cut PB&J. Maybe reaching across the aisle should involve a hummus-for-meatloaf exchange?

I love the writers at SFWeekly's "SF Foodie" blog, but they've outdone themselves here:

More chain-resaurant goodness from SF Foodie: the 10 fattest (not phattest) breakfasts. Yum!
