Here's a likely BOS candidate: Small Faces, Tin Soldier. Must look to see how this did on the US charts.

The Small Faces AMG singles chart tab doesn't have anything on it.  Is it possible that nothing by them charted?  Or is it an AMG glitch?

"Itchykoo" definitely made the Top 40 -- "Tin Soldier" maybe not

AMG glitch. When I went there, it says that Itchycoo Park made it to #16, Tin Soldier didn't crack the top 40, only hitting no. 73.
Let's get right to it.

Two more songs, two more BOSes: S&G, and Manfred Mann, who is definitely my cup of meat.
Let's get right to it.

and of course, those were the days of "regional hits" -- there were cities where "Itchykoo" was Top 5, while in NYC it did next-to-nothing.

All filed under Faces, perhaps?

My top 20 Singles book says the Small Faces had lots of success in the UK (Tin Soldier to #14 in Jan, 1968), but only ItchyandScratchycoo Park made the top 20 in the US.

yep, me too.  Of course there was a long time before I knew the word 'queue' so I always heard that as "jumping cubes and making haste".

BOS5 Foundations, mainly 'cause it's "Baby Now That i Found You" and not the overplayed "Buttercup".

The LP chart postions are listed (which is  why I was astonished to see that Tin Soldier came off of the 4th(!) LP they released in 1968)
