OMGWTF!!! David Johanssen, "Frenchette". Oh the memories.  Nobody on the West Coast seems to know this album at all.  But damn it's great.

The Dead didn't exactly expend a lot of effort on this cover, did they?

Don't tell me, let me guess: Good Lovin'?

Actually that song was much better in the live setting than their studio version would lead you to believe.
Let's get right to it.

*ding ding ding*

And your observation would seem to apply to quite a bit of their catalog, I s'pose.

1989 on the Peak -- is it me, or do they visit this year a LOT?  tuned in just in time for the dreaded FYC "Good Thing".

rock'n'roller cola wars! I can't take it any more!

But Rob did play Lou Reed "Dirty Blvd" and U2's cover of "Everlasting Love".

OMG! The Peak does 1970!

"My Sweet Lord", "Big Yellow Taxi", the Allmans' "Revival" and BOS Sly, "Everybody is a Star".  Musical comfort food.

ETA: Rob also played "No Matter What", "Fire & Rain", "Who'll Stop the Rain", the Velvets' "RnR".

Wed. 9/21: It's 1985

1985 sounds much like I remember it, with "Shout" and "Fortress Around in Your Heart."  Opened with a pair of October longings -- "Centerfield" and "Dead Man's Party" -- and now an obscure, forgotten Cheap Trick pre-comeback single, "Tonight It's You."  Interesting set, all told.
“The choir of children sing their song.  They've practiced all year long.  Ding dong.  Ding dong.  Ding dong.”

So will any of our 10@10s feature 1979 today, so that they can "remember... the 21st of September"?

Ooh, and now an easy BOS to "The Whole of the Moon."  That song's 20 years old?  Damn!

Good question.  Did we get 1972 on "the third of September" for a Temptations visit?

"I saw the rain-dirtied valley...
You saw Brigadoon..."

this song gives me chills every time, even after 20 years.

Sadly, the third was a Saturday.  And of course we didn't get "Ode to Billie Joe" on June 3rd either.

Is this Kate Bush?  Sounding intriguing, though "Running Up That Hill" was omnipresent for me around this time.

OMG did I miss Joanie B's "This is your Woodstock, and it's long overdue" clip?
