And I had COMPLETELY forgotten that Cyndi Lauper had covered - and gone Top 20 with - "What's Going On"!

Another one I hadn't heard in 20 years: Robbie Nevil's c'est-la-follow-up, "Domino."

I'd forgotten all about Donna Allen's "Serious."  Very much the Mpls robo-funk sound.

I'd forgotten it too -- when it came on I thought it was Jody Watley's "Looking For a New love" (which we'll hear in the next hour).

As much as I love Ms Lauper, "What's Going On" is one of the more ill-advised covers I can think of, I'm sorry to say. Some icons shouldn't be fucked with.  And the Robbie Nevil... well, there's a reason that one's forgotten. But at least it wasn't "C'est La Vie". ;)

OMFG! "My Girl Bill" *and* Albert Hammond's "I'm a Train" in the first segment! Thanks, Wayback, for the weekly heads-up.

But something tells me that station (WHNN -- remember when? how droll) should not be posting the actual show rundown -- on AT40/Premiere Networks stationery! -- on their website.

Sunday's XM 80's show is from May 26, 1984 at 9AM PT. As I noted before, you could listen for free via AOL.com so if you want to catch the replay of the 70's show it's on Wednesday nights at 7PM PT. 80's could be heard on Thursdays at 7PM PT

Staple Singers, "Touch a Hand, Make a Friend": I'm almost certain I saw Alabama perform this on Solid Gold in the early '80s.

I'd never heard Billy Paul's "Thanks for Saving My Life" before.

Casey's a sucker for Sami Jo's "Tell Me a Lie."  And so am I.

Actually, The Oak Ridge Boys had a country #1 with it in '85.

Ah, right.  Different hirsute mountaineers, same vibe.

Lot of tracks new to me on Casey's '80s tonight - this week in May 1982: Donnie Iris's "My Girl" (not the Tempts song), John Denver's "Shanghai Breezes," and "If I Had My Wish Tonight" by David Lasley (who?).
