WOS Art Garfunkel (with James Taylor and Paul Simon), "Wonderful World."  I call bullshit - no way I'm buying what Art's selling when he sings "Don't know much about alegbra"; he's got a fricking math masters degree and reads several books a month.

BOS1 to Odyssey, "Native New Yorker," really hit the spot this morning.  IDKT: this was written by the Linzer/Randell team.

BOS2 to the much-maligned Rod the Cad, "You're in My Heart."  OMG: They silently bleeped out "big-bosomed"!!

LOL re: Art G and math.  I missed this one, got here during Short People #14, but maybe I'll hear it later.  JT's presence might be enuf for me to call BS on that song.

I find even Rod Stewart's lame hits to be fun, Do Ya think I'm Sexy, Young Turks, Tonight I'm Yours... all good. It's true he sold waaaay out, peaked w the early records, but I'm a fan.

Gaz WOS's a Sam Cooke song -- shockah!  ;)

I'm about to begin the '70s show at the top of the hour on that Canadian station.

early BOS to Sweet Lou Rawls, "Lady Love" -- I've said it before: it sounds like a lost Spinners song to me.

VHM David Gates' "Goodbye Girl" -- robbed of a Best Song Oscar nom (it was the year "You Light Up My Life" won. sheesh)

BTW, we've been amused to hear this station give the weather and say "the high today will be -4 degrees", but it turns out that's Celsius; they're Canucks, after all.

BOS2 Santa Esmeralda's inspired disco-flamenco cover of "Don't Let Me Be Misunderstood"

LAWD! the Canucks play Canadian "extras" between segments of AT40 -- here's Gino Vanelli's "People Gotta Move", which (TANC) he sang when he was the first white guy on Soul Train. *swoon*!

Chart Date: February 25, 1978

#33 Goodbye Girl – David Gates

#25 Theme From Close Encounters – Meco
#13 Theme From Close Encounters Of The Third Kind – John Williams

TANC: TCM showed these 2 movies back-to-back tonight (they both star Richard Dreyfuss, who had to beg Spielberg for the CEotTK part, which he got only after Steve McQueen and Jack Nicholson turned it down).

BOS2 ABC's wonderful "How to Be a Millionaire" --why this never made it into Dave's annual Tax Day set remains a mystery.

You're listening right now?  Which station?  (I can't get .m3u playlists to play on my computer, so I'm locked out of that back-to-back station you mentioned.)

JCM's rock name-checking on "R.O.C.K..." leads to a feature on the "all-time name-dropping song", Reunion's "Life is a Rock".

eeek: Casey's Long-Distance Dedication is for the Space Shuttle Challenger astronauts, and it's... "Come Sail Away" by Styx.

meanwhile, I didn't know Elton was into aging bald men

and VHM RFTW's forgotten "Digital Display"

uber-BOS3 "Tarzan Boy", another all-time-fave OHW.

VHM Wham's forgotten "I'm Your Man"

BOS4 Sheila E's equally forgotten "A Love Bizarre" -- a line like "swallow the pride and joy of my ivory tower" could only have been written by Prince.
