Well, Detroit is a lot closer to Canada.  I don't think it was a hit out here, but I could be wrong.

I just don't think it ranks up with the others, that's all.  Kinda dated and hokey.  Of course, you young'uns might feel the same about the rest of the set too!

dated, maybe, not hokey. i think the lyrics of "good news week" are very non-hokey. so much so that i pay attention to them!

And when was the last time we cranked out 6 pages of comments during the course of one (35 minute) set? Probably not since the old board, methinks.
Let's get right to it.

Me too.  My co worker was just asking me a question when Dave said that & my face musta looked weird, 'cuz she kinda apologized right away for asking & I had to say no, no, no, it's not your question that was strange.

yeah, if mister 1429 posts was here it woulda been 8 pages.

Urth, you are for sure gonna record this onto disc tonight, right?  Or at least get up early enough in the a.m.?

Donovan, Try and Catch the Wind

I heard it accidentally a few minutes ago, quite a delay from end of 10@10, eh?

I'm gonna for sure try to. I've been good about remembering lately, but if I'm out or fall asleep on the sofa, bad things could happen.

If it's the first or second set in the replay tomorrow, likely I won't get it--I'm NEVER up before 8:30 on Saturdays.
Let's get right to it.

Rod seems to have been absent also.

very funny. Those days may be over for a while as work Really. Really. Sucks.  But I look forward to the replay, even if I did hear Hedgehoppers Anonymous yesterday on CG.

So Gaz, when did you finally figure out Fontella Bass wasn't Ree-Ree? A guy at my college radio station always mispronounced her name as "Fontella Base"  (he was into instruments, not fish, I guess).

BTW, Hedgehoppers Anonymous was one of Jonathan "Everyone's Gone to the Moon" King's many projects (I think he was involved with "Beach Baby" too). "Good News Week" was a huge hit in England but failed to make the Top 40 over here, though it was a regional hit that did quite well in a lot of markets (I'm guessing Detroit was one).

Well, if Urth doesn't get it on dat to disc, I'll get it on cassette and maybe try replay radio again if I can get it for a free trial again.

work sucks is kind of a universal thing eh? Remind yourself that a paid working day is better than an unemployed or unpaid day. :?

When things are rough at work, I just go to my happy place which at this point is Opening Day at SBC. I see CalTrain and envision myself on it, going up to SF. Pregame parking lot festivities, then no responsibility other than drinking beer, people watching, and cheering for the GIANTS! mmmmmmmm, happy. If for some unfortunate reason I do end up without a job come June, methinks I'll be spending lots of time at Giants day games if tickets are free.
