not sure if this is the best Dave coulda done in choosing a Motown tune, but he's from that part of the country, so I defer.  I don't even know if I've got the title right.

Actually I looked it up on Allmusic, and it looks like it might have just been a single--don't think it appeared on an album until Bob's Greatest Hits in 67.

I think my BOS goes to the Animals.  In this context this sounds so much more garage-like than it does when KFRC plays it.

Nice, simple, compelling bass line.

Title is correct, as is the assessment: CSAM sounds downright primitive compared to other HDH efforts ("Ask the Lonely" would have been a good one for this year).

Nice job with the Animals, though.
