Whoooppeee!!! It worked! 1965 today!
« on: March 18, 2005, 09:56:29 AM »
I sent Dave an email on behalf of my brother Chris' 40th birthday today.

Dave just said, "a rare return to ancient history".

I mentioned that Chris matriculated to Stanford in '83 and was listening for the 1st KFOG birthday so he's nearly a charter Foghead (not sure if it's really true, but it could be).  I then credited him with turning my on to KFOG & 10@10 (both true).

I figured the timing was exactly right, a Friday after a themed set.

I'm already taping on my boombox, but it's not the highest quality perhaps.

Great stuff so far with "Liar Liar" and "Shakin' All Over".  What would you say are the chances that we'll hear "Like a Rolling Stone" and "Satisfaction" , perhaps even consecutively?

Hey Mark, was that you that called in with the Henry Mancini story this morning? The guy said he used to be a limo driver in SoCal, so it had your fingerprints all over it.
Let's get right to it.

Yeah, it was Mshray -- see the Drive thread for the deets.

Missed "Liar, Liar" to my dismay.  Now getting a song I thought was Aretha for *years*.

And yes, "Rolling Stone" and "Satisfaction" are cinches, as is something from (yay) the Beatles, probably either "Ticket to Ride" or "Day Tripper."  I'm betting the former.  Also betting that we hear from the DC5, maybe "Any Way You Want It."  I just hope it's not "Because," one of the worst songs ever written.
