Aidan Vaiziri tempers the snarkiness a tad, and manages to write a rather cogent (IMHO) review of Train's Fillmore show.

I heard this morning on Greg Kihns show and then went to the Aero fan site to verify. Steven is having throat surgery and is on total vocal rest. I'm so glad I saw them in Oakland even tho they arrived so late from the Grammys.

On the bright side, I can get a refund and bank about $300 that would have been spent.

Joel Selvin says nice things about Donald Fagen's show. But he only played ONE song from the new album? WTF?

PoC, Yessongs and I were at the show.  It was odd to only hear one tune from the new album, and it was a weird one.  Here's the setlist:
Here at the Western World
Green Flower Street
The Nightfly
New Frontier
Maxine
Home at last
Black Cow
The Goodbye Look
Third World Man
Countermoon
Misery & The Blues
Bright Nightgown
Black Friday
(Encore)
Pretzel Logic
Viva Rock n Roll

Note that he played 5 of the 8 songs on The Nightfly which I thought was odd too, though it is a great album.  He did a new arrangement of the TotHC "Here at the Western World", but it was so loud I couldn't tell what they were doing.  They got the sound adjusted better after that, but it was a weak start, I thought.  It was a short show, but a good performance.

A friend of mine went last night and said the show was good, Paul performed really well with the songs done in his range so he wasn't trying to sound like Mr. Mercury.

I'm sure those would all be good, but the only think I'd consider is the Elvis/Toussaint show, and I just got tickets for the Paramount show. But you should def. check that one out--it promises to be a good 'un.
Let's get right to it.
