Is Spamalot still running with the original cast?

I misssed this post in Nov -- FYI, Spamalot is still running, but the orig cast (Tim Curry, David Hyde-Pierce) are long gone. I'll still see it next month, tho'.

Hyde-Pierce is currently in the Kander/Ebb/Rupert Holmes musical "Curtains".

Well I have no idea how soon I will get to NY, but then again doesn't seem like you are going anywhere soon either.  Congrats on the new gig, no question that Time Magazine looks better on your resume for when you get your next even bigger opportunity!

ETA: and now I'm the second person to crack the 7000 post barrier.  Only about 15,000 behind Mike.  Woot!

p.s. after you start working a 4-day week you have no more excuse not to call me & catch up!  I have some serious brainstorming to do with you.

I know, I've been a flake on this.  But my existing commitments have really kept me madly busy (part of why you now have a 1300-post lead on me here).  I'm preoccupied now with the impending new job and the deets of my building's sale, but I expect to take the last week of the month off, so maybe we can chat at length then!

After less than five months as Voice copy chief, I'm moving on yet again.

Time magazine just offered me a position, a split of retexting (the work I've been doing for them for the past year, repurposing domestic articles for the international editions) and copyediting.  Easier hours (35-hour, four-day work week), stabler environment, more prestige, opportunity to play a small role in the public dialogue on the national level, and oh yeah, significant raise.

I'm pretty jazzed.

Ironic that I should be leaving the Voice just as it's turning a corner editorially (the new EIC has done a fantastic job in only eight weeks or so).  But it ended up not being a terribly difficult decision.

I'll be at the Voice through next Friday (we have an early issue close before the Memorial Day weekend) and then anticipate starting with Time on June 4.

W00T!

Most EXCELLENT! CONGRATS!!!!!

looks like I'm moving to another school next year.  It's been pretty disfunctional where I am now.

What are ya'lls thoughts and experience with posting your resume online during a job search? ie: posting on Monster and hoping someone finds you. Also, other sites to post on?
New or other sites to search on other than Craigs or Monster?

I've all but signed the contract to leave the SF school district and teach next year at Westmoor High in Daly City.  I hope I can find a place to settle down someday!

There are niche boards in a number of fields -- in my case, mediabistro.com and journalismjobs.com, the former of which was exceedingly helpful.  I've never made a work connection via Monster, but that's the luck of the draw sometimes.

My res has been on Monster and CareerBuilder for over a year -- I got exactly ONE phone call, last September, from someone who saw me on Monster and was offering a temporary position. But in Ali's case, it would seem to me sales/marketing jobs would be far more plentiful.

Well your load is now lighter. Sorry. It was not the word I wanted to use but allowed me to convey "all of you", wanting the opinions of all, and not having to rephrase of spell something wrong when intending to query all of you in plural.

The English language didn't do itself a favor by using the same word for the singular and plural.  "Y'all" and "Y'alls" are far preferable to Pittsburgh's variant on the you plural, "Yinz."

I *hate* the iPhone.

Just had to get that off my chest.
Let's get right to it.
