Oh, Britney, will the saga never end?

http://www.sfgate.com/cgi-bin/blogs/sfgate/indexd?blogid=7

Anybody have her in a 2008 "dead pool"? I'm serious.

I forgot to make a dead pool list this year.  Since no one of note has passed away this year AFAIK, I don't feel bad about cheating a week.  Sorry if any of you find this game too macabre.

1. Britney Spears
2. Sen. Ted Stevens
3. Corey Haim
4. Pervez Musharraf
5. Bobby Brown
6. Elizabeth Taylor
7. Pete Doherty (UK musician, for those unfamiliar)
8. Amy Winehouse
9. Whitney Houston
10. Danny Bonaduce

Whitney *and* Bobby? Murder-suicide, perhaps?

Eddie Murphy's beard, no more

Two weeks and done, that's pretty short.
Let's get right to it.

I loved the comment about " it took him 2 weeks to realize she wasn't a tranny". LOL!  Maybe Will Smith can turn him on to Scientology...

Scarlett and the twins getting hitched? Rumors that she's about to become engaged to Ryan Reynolds. Reynolds was previously engaged to Alanis Morrissette -- talk about trading up!

Apparently this is big news in the UK, with "Shock! Horror!" tabloid headlines etc. -- Ali Campbell splits from UB40:

Couldn't figure where to put this, but it's Leah Garchick, so...

-- "I had to get a king-size bed. I'm dating a couple." (Customer overheard at White Horse Bar in Oakland by J.T.G.)

I've been to the White Horse -- tripping on shrooms, no less -- and can totally believe this conversation transpired.

One of the American Idol contestants is a former male stripper in gay clubs:

"Hernanzez is scheduled to perform with the male contestants Tuesday night. "

Somehow this story escaped my notice until now: Prince needs hip replacment surgery! But he's trying to avoid it because Jehovah's Witnesses are anti-blood transfusions.

http://www.dailymail.co.uk/pages/live/articles/showbiz/showbiznews.html?in_article_id=365369&in_page_id=1773

and in other health news, the Enquirer says Patrick Swayze has 5 weeks to live.

ETA: ah, but his doctors are shooting that story down -- sort of. Yes, he has pancreatic cancer but they say they are "optimistic".
