26 Feb 2015: it's... another classic from 1971
« on: February 25, 2015, 08:53:52 PM »
I'm just gonna assume another "encore" -- AL is still posting pics of the new studios on FB -- and then I can be pleasantly surprised if we get a new set.

I'm guessing we're getting '71 or 72 since we're hearing "I'd Like to Buy The World a Coke."

Yep, 1971. Joy to the World TOTHK.
Let's get right to it.

Sounds like a new one from 1971. I guessed 72 from the Coke song. Close but no ceegar.

ETA: Oh well, not new. But I'll enjoy 71 anyway.

So when I was 7 yrs old this was one of the funniest jokes:  Do you like to eat snot?  "But if you think its butter, but it's snot, its Chiffon."

Is it just me, or has Sweet City Woman rising on the FF list? Seems like I've heard it a few times over the last 6 months or so.

ETA: Yep. This is its fourth appearance (including in a different encore set) since last July.

Since I didn't hear this the first time around BOS #1 for "Getting In Tune". That piano & bass intro is still one of my favorites...and The Who had at least 2 of the top five all time intros besides this.

BOS #2 Yes, with more and better chess metaphors than "One Night In Bangkok"

This is as close as Yes ever got to swinging.

Chris Squire did some of his best bass work on this one, IMHO.

Well, that's a pretty fine set, despite the fact that we heard the Stampeders tune in a different '71 "encore" a month ago (and despite the presence of uber-LN "JTTW")
