and (again just IMHO, maybe hoping to stir some controversy?) we go from two of the most underrated Who & Yes songs to probably the most overrated Zep song.

Personally, I think "Kashmir" is the most overrated Zep song.  But I get your point on Rock and Roll.

Anyway, this is a great set.

This is the one I've been waiting for.  BOS 'Retha.

The version of this without the horns is pretty great too.

Let's get right to it.

I agree..  Never really liked RnR that much -- but they had to get it out of their system, I suppose. It reads very tongue and cheek, and simple, especialy when compared to the other stuff on IV (ZOSO)

Misty Mountain Hop is waaaaay more rockin' for instance...  and Levee...?  fugheddabouddit

I dunno, the members are pretty much all on record that they think "Kashmir" was their best work, and they think "Stairway To Heaven" was actually over rated.

But as my dad always told me, 'de gustibus non disputandem est' - i.e. there's no arguing for taste, i.i.e.e. to each his own.

ABOSLUTELY my fave Zep song.  And it is apparently a cover a blues number from like 1929 or something ridiculous like that.

Kashmir is so stoney and droney. It has its place. A friend of mine who drums asked me to learn the guitar part, and we jammed on it. fun to play, but without a singer it sorta lacked something.  :)  It has DADGAD tuning if you're interested.

BOS to Who and Rod

One more BOS: (I Know) I'm Losin' You. One of the best Faces songs that wasn't a Faces song.

The really remarkable thing about that is that you were mostly MIA for how long, a couple years easy? And you're still no. 2. (C'mon, another 58,000 and you can catch Mike for #1. Right.)

Sure, a round of Frink points for the house!

Wait, what you're saying is that Led Zepplin borrowed from some other artists?  EGADS!!!   :)

GEEK ALERT: Just looked at the member list -- sorry to rain on the parade, but you're still in third, 272 posts behind Gaz. But keep showing up the way you have been the last month or so and you'll catch him in a month or two.

Btw, I just noticed that I'm a mere 27 posts away from hitting 14K. Oy vey.
Let's get right to it.
