It was apparently urgent to not have 10 bustouts. Still, it's one of those songs I don't tire of.

VHM Jr Walker's awesome sax.  But this air/stream delay is getting annoying.

Pretty yin yang for me.  Jr. Walker was a master, and Lou Gramm...not so much

I'm listening over the air, and she didn't start the show until about 10:07.  Despite Lou Gramm's pleadings, AL felt no urgency.

HM to Foreigner b/c Lou Gramm (real name Grammatico) is from my hometown.

My My My!   BOS to Joan Jett's invitation.

it's one of her top five songs, prolly.   even the casual listener might be familiar, and it's got such a hook.  When I'm your age (fingers crossed!) I plan to sing this song while riding Muni, wandering around supermarkets, etc.  :)

What's the KISS format?

Their tag line is "The Bay's Old School" and they play R&B from the 70s and 80s mainly.  You'll hear Michael Jackson, Heatwave, H&O, etc.

Their meta description says "98.1 KISS FM is The Bay's Old School featuring Ac Urban radio live from San francisco, Ca at 981kissfm.com."

I've always like this Greg Khin song.

I had a 10 am training today.  Busy day here at the old club!

I can't remember what station I was listening to in '81.  KSAN had already died (went country November 15, 1980 according to Wiki) by then, and I'm not remembering what my other rock options were.

ETA:  Though I was a student at SF State at the time, and listened to the school radio station quite a bit.

Off the top of my head we have Slaughter and the Counting Crows.

Add the T-Heads, Unwritten Law, and the new Blink182.

Subtract the T-Heads. I think the song you're thinking of is "Stay Up Late."
