Nope, but didya know that Blue Swede didn't originate the "ooga-chukka" arrangement of "Hooked on a Feeling"?  Jonathan King (of "Everyone's Gone to the Moon" and "Beach Baby" fame) did it in 1971 and had a UK hit.

Casey's '80s are in 1986 this week.  Not a lot of note, but the lovely Anita Baker is in with the fab "Sweet Love."  And in the Top 10: "I saw you - and HIM! - walking in the rain!"  BOS to Oran, flat-blastin' both-a ya.

er, per the Top40db, the lyric is:

"I feel hungry
It's a hunger
That tries to keep a man awake at night"

So there IS a complete thought there.  But that's a funny TANC, because when Dave played the Kid Rock tune the other day, 3 diff Fogheads called to say "he's rhyming 'things' with... 'things', Dave! Talk about crappy songwriting!"

Unfortunately it sounds like what CBS meant by "you can still hear KFRC's classic hits on kfrc.com" is what we've been getting all week, just automated hits with top of hour network news.  Yesterday they didn't run Casey or Beatles Brunch and this morning no "Backstage with Ben Fong-Torres."  Yes, maybe that Caseython weekend was to fulfill obligations.  Who's really going to listen to this kind of KFRC thru their PC anyway?  Oh well.

Casey was glad to see Joan Baez return to the chart (in a crummy hotel over Washington Square).  And I am glad to hear Leon Haywood, wanting to do something freaky to you - pimptastic!

Could've done without Frankie Valli's unemotional cover of "Our Day Will Come," though - it lacks Ruby & the Romantics' elegance.

This Melissa Manchester is new to me: "Just Too Many People."  I have to imagine this was offered to Diana Ross first.

"Put it in your peace pipe!"  B.T. Express are smokin', with a hit whose flip side had hit the Top 40 a few months prior, sez Casey.  Lead vocalist was listening to Gladys Knight & the Pips' "Friendship Train" for inspiration, I bet.  Very similar groove.

I was out in kitchen last 15 min's, PC is in den, but I can hear it.  I was in senior year HS in Nov 75, but don't recall 35, 33, 32, 31, 29, the rest of this chart is familiar.  I'm meeting mshray 10am-12 today at Peet's Coffee in Walnut Creek where Dave Morey will be pushing new Live from Archives CD.

It's an Art Garfunkel twin-spin!  Back to back solo ("I Only Have Eyes for You," which the fastidious copy editors at Time would correct to "I Have Eyes for Only You") and with Rhymin' Simon (the beautifully bitter "My Little Town").
