Emmit Smith did the SB coin toss, but Jerry Rice got the biggest round of applause.

Looks like it's over: Saints interception of a mistimed Peyton pass makes it 31-17 with 3 mins left.

During the trophy presentation ceremonies, did anyone else notice that while Sean Payton was speaking the camera pulled back a bit and for a second and a half you could quite clearly see James Carville milling about in front of the stage.

That was written by one of my better friends from high school.  He's going to be out here April 30 - May 1 doing a book signing at the Borders by the stadium.  We should get a group together for the game.

Related topic: Willie Mays guests on The Daily Show tonight promoting your pal's book. A few good stories. I saw it on our DirecTV feed at 8, which I think is the 11pm broadcast from the east coast feed.  But check your local listings.
Let's get right to it.

Yet again, the Giants avoid arbitration with an 11th hour deal for Lincecum's services. $23M over 2 years ($9M this season, $14M next.

I'd have hoped for them to ink him for longer, but at least it's done. And he's still got what, 2 years after that before he's an unrestricted FA, iirc.

Best. Closed-Caption. Error. EVAH:  During the Sharks pre-game, Drew Remenda was doing a piece on the Winter Olympics, and said he was excited that this year

"THE OLYMPICS ARE RETURNING TO WHERE HOCKEY WAS PORN"

Now I know those Canadians love their hockey, but jeez...
