I suppose my least favorite Paul Simon tune was inevitable, but here's hoping "Cat's In The Cradle" is not.

If we don't get Alice Cooper, then what was the point of making it "...& Grads"?
I don't think of School's Out as a grad song, as much as I like it.

if she plays Pomp and Circumstance, I will give her a tip of my mortarboard

"School's out forever, school's out completely."  It sure was for me every time I graduated from somehting.

Even I'm not sappy enough for Jon Mayer!

I tuned away from this one, but this song -- iirc -- seemed crafted to reveal the "sensitive" side of Jon Meyer.  In other words, he was trying to get laid..  :)
from what I gather, he doesn't have to try very hard!

Jon Meyer made me tune into The Sound for a bit, and they just played Father And Son  by Cat Stevens, then they played  Paul Simon's "Father & Daughter".

"Cat's in the Cradle" used to actually make me cry as a kid.

The song I used to associate with last day of school, oddly enough, is Kenny Loggins' "Heaven Helps the Man (I'm Free)," from Footloose.

sorry, it's sap. And I was a huge Chapin fan. He knew how to step right up to the sappy line without crossing it, most of the time ("W.O.L.D", "Circle"). So of course when he went overboard he scored a #1 single.

...Cat Stevens Father and Son might be cool though.

The player shows it in the On-Deck circle at the moment.

<copy editor mode> I like the song myself, but there's a difference b/w a cliché and sappiness< />
