sorry, it's sap. And I was a huge Chapin fan. He knew how to step right up to the sappy line without crossing it, most of the time ("W.O.L.D", "Circle"). So of course when he went overboard he scored a #1 single.

I know this "Oh Daddy" is a fave, but I'd've preferred F.Mac's, or Madonna's "Oh Father".

BOS3 Mr Luhrman. He makes godawful movies but this was a terrific recording.

ETA: Luhrman produced (and gets the label credit) but the voice is that of Aussie voice actor Lee Perry.
