Decided to switch over here after looking at the songs we could expect in the KFOG set today and I'm glad I did--caught the end of Queen's I'm In Love With My Car.  BOS!

And another BOS to one Dave's never played--Chicago's Old Days. They had slipped inexorably away from jazz into pop by this period, but it was catchy pop. It would only get worse.

WHOA! Another from the non-Dave Playbook (and proxy of Shray): Terrible Ted, Stranglehold!

At least he was smart enough to hire a real vocalist on this record. Later he just sang everything himself--and he gots no kinda singing voice, lemme tellya. (See also: Wango Tango)

(This may be from the wrong year depending on what rule they're using--it entered the charts on January 3, so it was probably out in '75 but didn't chart til the following year.)

That's a fine lineup. Dave's only played the Queen track in a "car tunes" set, iirc. Bob's the only other guy who's played "Stranglehold", and the Rod Stewart might be an ATBB.

I adore this version (thanks to my K-Tel Dynomite LP, which included a ~two minute edit of Love Hurts), but it still cannot touch the Everly Brothers' original.
