The NY Post's "Page Six" is reporting that Mel Brooks (who is 80) has decided that Cloris Leachman (81) is "too old" to reprise her role as Frau Blucher in the B'way musical version of Young Frankenstein.  8 shows a week, insurance issues, etc. Too bad. Andrea Martin of SCTV fame gets the part.

In re: the Owen Wilson suicide attempt... Us mag is reporting that one of his problems was hanging out with Steve Coogan, the Brit comic actor (24 Hour Party People, Tristam Shandy) who is apparently quite the party animal. Check out this quote from Courtney Love:

"I went through it with Steve. I was just out of rehab, and he was right there with the drugs. I tried to warn Owen. I tried to warn his friends. I hope from the bottom of my heart that Owen stays the hell away from that guy."

Jeez, when Courtney Love calls you a lowlife druggie and all-around bad influence... :roll:

A year ago around this time I heard Phil Matier on the radio somewhere outside KFOG & he said it was a mortal lock that they were divorcing in 2007, and that they'd even put their house on the market.  Spent last year thinking he was full of it , but now I guess not.
