Friday Aug 26--today's classic--1968?

I spaced during the intro--think it's 68.

Whatever year it is, Hush is a frequent component thereof.

And now Sam & Dave's "I Thank You".  I had probably heard ZZ Top's version 50 times before I knew it was a cover.  They both work for me tho'.

ETA: This is Stax stuff, too, right Mike?  Any dish from your book?

Not on this partic song, but they had hooked up after both singing with doo-woppish groups. When Sam invented his trademark drop-to-your-knees move on stage one night, he nearly knocked over a bunch of equipment and Dave dropped to his knees too to try to prevent stuff (which they'd've had to pay for) from falling. The audience thought it was part of the act.
