Tiny Tim "in Mr. Harrison's presence" clinches it, I have this set on CD (courtesy of Urth).

I was beginning to wonder. Been hearing a lot of things that I know I've heard before (the computer music etc.). But Dave recycles so much stuff I'm never sure.
Let's get right to it.

have the words "tenement slum" ever sounded so lovely?

BOS Ms Ross and her Supes.

my fave is the "hatin'/creatin'" rhyme.

"don't be hatin'"

More Motown, with Gaz's fave tambourine bit.

dim-dim-da-lee, dim-dim-da-lie, dim-dim-da-loo, dim-dee-eye-oh...

Methinks it's another 10-way tie.

I'm down with that.

Was just listening to another 68 set the other night--and Friends was in that one too.

not often you can date a classic, but Rick Danko died 12-10-99, which is before I ever got a CD from Urth.

No kidding--that was two years before I had even a CD burner.

Maybe we just *think* we've heard it before.

Or maybe this isn't the first time this set's been a classic?

which would explain Beatles Xmas stuff too.

Well, kids, I'm working half-day today (SBC's coming to fix my phone), so it'll be an hour of CGSS and then out.  Have a great weekend and hope we see some of you at the princess' CD release shindig tonight!

POC, you like that album? I've been digging it for several months now. The south will rise again! (musically speaking anyway.)
