As if it isn't ubiquitous enuf, radio-wise, Train's "Hey Soul Sister" is being used on Samsung commercials.

But OMGWTF-of-the-Week to CVS, who are using the instrumental version of the Osmonds' "Double Lovin" (!) on their new spots.

Isn't that song basically Donny threatening to spunk on a girl twice?

I always assumed it meant Mormon schlongs are twice as big.  (Must be that magic underwear!)

Just heard a dreadful local NY radio spot on The Peak for Mohegan Sun, the Indian casino, that turns "Walk Like an e-GYP-shun" into "talkin' 'bout Mo-he-GAN Sun". Sheesh.

for those who also find that McDonald's "I haven't had my coffee yet" commercial supremely annoying:

More $$$ for Barry Manilow's retirement fund: Band-Aid has revived his '70s jingle for them ("I am stuck on a Band-Aid, 'cause Band-Aid's stuck on me")

Retirement fund?  Or plastic surgery fund?  Man, after seeing him on the Kathy Griffin show...

Last nite in the space of 10 or 15 mins I saw FOUR commercials with Iron Man 2 tie-ins: Dr Pepper, Burger King, Audi and 7-Eleven. Sheesh. The movie better be good -- and the buzz so far says it's a disappointment.

Another add during the Laker / Suns game (see copyedit101), a Nike add featuring Renaldo (futbol aka soccer), using "Hocus Pocus" (no yodeling).

And I thought Ellen Page doing those Cisco commercials was depressing: Just saw Elizabeth Moss, who plays Peggy Olson on Mad Men and who was on B'way last year in Mamet's Speed the Plow.... doing a commercial for Excedrin Migrane.  OTOH, she also plays Jonah Hill's girlfriend in the new Get Him To The Greek, so maybe Excedrin is a step up.

Loverboy's "Working for the Weekend" is shilling for Reese's Peanut Butter Cups. "You got chocolate on my red leather pants!"  "You got your red leather pants in my chocolate!"

Please tell me you're joking.  Seeing chocolate on red pants would make me think Depends were the product du jour.

I'm joking about the chocolate/red leather thing. But the song is being used by Reese's.
