anyone else think we've reached a new nadir with the J. Geils Band's "Love Stinks" being used in a - wait for it - Swiffer(!) commercial?

Bad enuf that some car company is using a cover of the Church's "Under the Milky Way" -- but it's sung by some Feist-alike.  Horrors!

Funny, I had that tune in my head all yesterday, probably because of that ad!

Average guy shopper picks and compares cars as if thy were toys, to the ominous strains of Buck Dharma's guitar!

Inevitable, perhaps: Biz Markie, whose "Just a Friend" is also flogging Heineken, is appearing in spots for Radio Shack, er, I mean The Shack, selling digital cameras and (naturally) repeating "Oh, snap! Guess what ah saw?" endlessly.

My jaw dropped at that.  I can't help thinking Makeba was pitched this previously and said, "Over my dead body."

TANC: Barry Scott's playing this song now on the Lost 45s.

Yikes, it's Crapton himself in a T-Mobile commercial for their new "Fender" phone, as his "Rock'n'Roll Heart" plays.

I think the idea of a collectible phone is kind of oxymoronic, but I understand the appeal.
